It's simple really. An antenna is mounted to your building facing one of ours. A single cat5 ethernet wire is run down the wall and one small hole is made to push the wire thru. An inline power supply connects to the cable on one side leaving an ethernet connection on the other. You can then plug it directly into a router/firewall or even your pc (not recommended).

What is the difference between Fixed Wireless and satellite?
Satellite uses the satellites orbiting the earth to deliver a signal. That means the signal has to travel upwards of about 44,000 miles before it reaches you. The longer the signal travel, the more the latency increases. You can expect to have ping times upwards of 900ms+. Fixed wirelss on the other hand travels a maxium of about 30 miles from one of our towers here on the earth to your place. This keeps the latency at 20ms or less.
Do you offer a self install kit?
Sorry, do to the fact the antenna needs to be precisely aligned to our towers to optimize signal, we do not provide self install kits. Our qualified technitions will install the equipment, run the wire, and perfectly align the radio for trouble free operation.
Do I need a seperate antenna for each computer?
Nope, you only need one. Your router/firewall will effectly split up the connection for you. All you need to do is connect each computer to the router.
Is the signal affected by the weather?
Theoretically no. However, very heavy rains and ice build up could effect the signal some. If you feel your signal has been degraded by these conditions, don't hesitage to call support at 616.828.5101 Ext 1. Our highly trained specalists can check your signal and see if a technician needs to pay you a visit to fix it.
Is interference a problem?
Generally no. Michwave uses technology that utilizes different frequency bands. What this means is if there is alot of interference detected on one frequency band, we can switch you to another.
